KISS Sidewinder CCR Training

The KISS Sidewinder CCR Training Program is designed to develop confident, disciplined rebreather divers through a strong emphasis on fundamentals. Built around the compact and lightweight KISS Sidewinder Rebreather, this course focuses on simplicity, control, and precision—core principles of effective closed-circuit diving.

Rather than rushing into complexity, the program prioritizes mastery of essential CCR skills. Students learn to manage buoyancy, trim, and loop volume with accuracy, while developing a clear understanding of PO2 management and mechanical operation. The goal is not just to operate the unit, but to truly understand it.

Training is progressive and performance-based. Each session builds on the last, reinforcing consistency and awareness before introducing additional task loading or simulated problem-solving scenarios. Emphasis is placed on calm, methodical responses and maintaining control under increasing levels of demand.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Foundational CCR skills: buoyancy, trim, and breathing loop management

  • Manual control of PO₂ and system awareness

  • Pre-dive checks and disciplined procedures

  • Failure recognition and controlled response

  • Development of self awareness, team awareness and rebreather awareness

By the end of the program, divers will have a solid operational foundation and the judgment needed to dive the Sidewinder in a controlled and thoughtful manner. The focus is simple: do the basics exceptionally well—because in CCR diving, fundamentals are everything.
